What a planting project includes

  • Plant selection

Rosa picks each plant for the spot's sun, salt and soil, not just the look.

  • Soil preparation

We loosen, amend and grade beds before anything goes in.

  • Irrigation adjustment

Zones and heads set for the new plants: drip for beds, spray for lawn.

  • 90 days of aftercare

Three visits to check watering, growth and anything that needs attention.

How a project runs

  1. Plan the beds

From a full design, or a planting plan for an existing garden.

  2. Prepare and plant

Soil, irrigation, plants and mulch, usually in 1 to 2 weeks.

  3. Settle in

Aftercare visits at 2, 6 and 12 weeks.

Questions about this

Which plants handle salt spray?

Sea grape, coontie, cocoplum, sabal palms and silver buttonwood all handle salt well. For waterfront lots we plan a salt-tolerant outer layer that shelters the more delicate plants inside.

Can you move our existing palms?

Often, yes. We assess each palm first; some species move well and others don't. We'll tell you honestly which ones are worth moving.

How soon will it look full?

Beds look finished on day one, and fill in over the first growing season. Privacy screens usually take one to two seasons to close up.
